We pride ourselves in our commitment to the local community and do everything we can to support it, along with the environment.
STAFF: Our staff are all locally based, and know the area well. This helps us offer advice on anything from directions to local amenities for your pet.
TRAINING: We are a registered Training Practice for Veterinary Nurses, which means that we offer high standards of care, and equipment, and have been approved and registered by the RCVS.
We are able to offer 1 training place each year to a local person who wants to train towards being a fully qualified Vet Nurse.
WORK EXPERIENCE: We offer work experience to any local person over the age of 17 years, who is interested in finding out what it is like to work with animals; either as an Animal Care Assistant, Vet Nurse or as a Vet. If you are interested in gaining experience, then please contact our Practice Manager directly.
SCHOOL VISITS: If you or your child’s school would like a visit from the Vet or Vet Nurse, then get in contact. This might be to talk about general pet care, or for careers advice.
RECYCLING: We recycle as much of our waste as possible, and always use the most environmentally friendly methods when choosing Practice Protocols.
CHARITIES: We support the following local charities in their efforts to care and rehome unwanted or abandoned animals:
We also support veterinary work in developing countries, with Helen our Head Vet having been part of several projects such as teaching vets in India how to safely neuter street dogs, Rabies vaccination projects, and treating working donkeys in Ethiopia and Mali.
Paxton Vet Clinics encourages the clinical staff to give up some of their time during their career to volunteer on worthwhile projects abroad via the WORLDWIDE VETERINARY SERVICE Charity by helping financially towards air fares.
