All the staff at Paxton Vets wish a wonderful Easter to all of our amazing clients and patients!
We hope it’s a time filled with the best things in life and shared with all the important people.
We would also like to take a little moment to remind everyone that there are a couple of things that we need to be on the lookout for:
• Chocolate – Contains theobromine, which is highly toxic for our pets. The darker the chocolate, the more theobromine it contains. Easter eggs and all the other yummy chocolate containing treats should be well supervised!
• Xylitol – This is a common sweetener found in a lot of candy, teas, soft drinks, baked goods and even some brands of peanut butter.
It is very toxic for our barking buddies and might even be fatal, so be vigilant of foods that might contain it.
• Raisins, sultanas, currants and grapes – A very popular ingredient in bakery, especially on hot cross buns. These fruits can be very harmful for dogs and might even cause kidney failure in some of our pooches
• Lilies – Lovely ornamental plants and a common purchase during the holidays. Some lilies are toxic for cats and may cause serious harm as all parts of these plants, even in small quantities, can cause severe kidney damage if ingested
With these in mind, we are sure Easter will be a blast!
Happy holidays, everyone!
Prepare for the 5th November as the firework season can be a scary time for your pets
